Recycling what has been used before lets you dance in the greenest shade of the fashion field. Any bride who really wants to be eco but has dreamt for too long about the fairy tale dress to go the hemp way will sigh with happy relief. Consignment stores like
White Chicago offer gorgeous designer dresses, which were worn once before. They are perfect Lhuilliers, Wangs, de la Rentas, di Santos or Reem Acras and carry the green seal of approval.
To re-use is No 1 on the green scale but even if producing new creations, our recommended designers operate with amazing recycle imagination. With lots of eco in their hearts and sassy brides in their mind our favorite trio, Deborah, Chrissie and Renee play on the edge of traditional taste. Deborah Lindquist offers gorgeous bridal couture from hemp, silk, vintage lace, recycled cashmere and leather, vintage sari, organic linen and embellished with crystals, semi precious stones, or carved bone beads. Renee Geneva's funky, eclectic pieces are created with formaldehyde-free silk, recycled textiles and organic cotton, hemp, and bamboo fabrics.
Says Chrissie: I feel inspired by a number of things. I am deeply influenced by nature and especially botanicals. I like to give back to the earth by using sustainable textiles like organic and vegan silk and silk/hemp. Not only are these materials ecologically responsible, they are also an unparalleled artistic medium and heavenly to the touch. There's so much unique repetition and beauty in the natural world. But I am also deeply influenced by the idea of a parallel dimension. My designs are often my perceptions of life, culture, and style in that place.
Other eco friendly designers often use organic cotton and hemp for classic simple elegance and a
more casual look as shown in our photos below. The purist Vegan bride looks
beautiful in a hemp/tencel dress.

Some like it simple but there is no reason in the world why eco cannot be over the top gorgeous. The colors and textures
of nature are a feast for the senses and so are natural fibers
and pesticide free dyes. Eco-conscious fashion designer Chrissi Wai Ching integrates combinations of peace silk and hemp for bride and brides maids, creations as sexy as the girls desire.

Stunning Hemp suits for the husband to be?
Not from the rack. There is not much to see at this moment
of time in the mens hemp fashion world, maybe some Organic
cotton and silk (see links below) but men might be better
of buying a couple yards of their favorite Organic yarn and
have it tailored in Italian fashion. Or Reduce, Re-use, Re-cycle
and dig in Grandpa's wardrobe for a formal suit
from the seventies. Of course
there are many hip vintage stores or the option of renting
your formal wear.
Hemp for Men
The Hemp Emporium sounds grand but is rather limited in its
offer and Gary Granola in its style. But they offer
a very nice looking banded collar, button-down dress shirt
in hemp.
